The State Security Service has detained Giorgi Bachiashvili.
"On May 26, 2025, an anonymous notification was received by the State Security Service, which revealed that Giorgi Bachiashvili, a dual citizen of Georgia and the Russian Federation, wanted and convicted under a red circular, was moving near the so-called green border section between Tsetili Khidi and Sadakhlo.
As a result of the investigative and operational-search measures taken, the above-mentioned person was detained.
The Anti-Corruption Agency of the State Security Service is conducting the investigation under Part 1 of Article 344 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to illegal border crossing and provides for imprisonment for a term of three to five years.
The State Security Service expresses its gratitude to the employees of the relevant units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the assistance provided," the State Security Service statement reads.
