The Georgian automotive fleet has grown by 5.4% in 9M 2025, with light vehicles remaining as the key driver for the growth.

Growth in the automotive fleet has accelerated in 3Q 2025 with a 16% increase in first registrations- TBC Capital new review reads.

Majority of the automotive fleet remains older than 20 years, however, declining average age of first registered light vehicles, reverting back to the pre-pandemic level for the first time, suggests fleet renewal.

In 2025, external trade of vehicles has accelerated further, with both imports and reexports increasing by 5% and 13%, respectively.
Reexport markets remain mostly unchanged, with Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan dominating trade volumes.

While being relatively small in terms of share in first registered light vehicles, hybrid vehicles grew by 24% and number of electric vehicles increased by 81% YoY in first registrations.

The percentage share of newly registered electric vehicles, as well as their absolute volume in Q3 2025, indicates a significant increasing tendency.
Sales of brand new light vehicles has been falling for the past two years both on domestic and foreign markets. The decrease can partially be attributable to the pent up demand realized in 2022-2023.

As indicated by international relationship between number of light vehicles and economic development level, the Georgian automotive fleet has further room for growth.
