In October 2025 the Consumer Price Index increased by 0.6 percent compared to the previous month, while the annual inflation rate amounted to 5.2 percent.

With regard to the annual core inflation1 , the prices increased by 2.7 percent, while the annual core inflation without tobacco amounted to 2.4 percent.

The monthly inflation rate was mainly influenced by price changes for the following groups:

Clothing and footwear: the prices increased by 8.2 percent, contributing 0.37 percentage points to the overall monthly inflation rate. Prices were higher for both footwear (16.9 percent) and clothing (4.0 percent);

Food and non-alcoholic beverages: the prices for the group increased by 0.3 percent, contributing 0.15 percentage points to the overall monthly inflation rate. The prices increased for the following subgroups: sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionery (3.2 percent), fish (2.9 percent), bread and cereals (2.5 percent), mineral waters, soft drinks, fruit and vegetable juices (2.0 percent), vegetables (0.5 percent), meat (0.5 percent). At the same time, prices decreased for fruit and grapes (-8.4 percent), milk, cheese and eggs (-0.6 percent), oils and fats (-0.6 percent), coffee, tea and cocoa (-0.4 percent);

Alcoholic beverages and tobacco: the prices increased by 1.2 percent, contributing 0.08 percentage points to the overall monthly inflation rate. Within the group, the prices were higher for both tobacco (1.7 percent) and alcoholic beverages (0.8 percent).

The annual inflation rate was mainly influenced by price changes for the following groups:

Food and non-alcoholic beverages: the prices in the group increased by 11.7 percent, contributing 3.88 percentage points to the overall annual inflation rate. Within the group the prices increased for the following subgroups: fruit and grapes (21.0 percent), vegetables (19.4 percent), sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionery (17.2 percent), fish (16.9 percent), oils and fats (13.9 percent), bread and cereals (12.4 percent), mineral waters, soft drinks, fruit and vegetable juices (10.4 percent), coffee, tea and cocoa (10.2 percent), milk, cheese and eggs (8.1 percent), meat (4.9 percent);

Health: the prices increased by 8.9 percent, contributing 0.75 percentage points to the overall index. The prices were higher for the following subgroups: out-patient services (9.3 percent), hospital services (9.2 percent), medical products, appliances and equipment (8.0 percent);

Alcoholic beverages and tobacco: the prices increased by 5.6 percent, with the relevant contribution of 0.36 percentage points to the overall annual inflation rate. The prices increased for both tobacco (7.2 percent) and alcoholic beverages (3.9 percent).
