According to Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, all speeches of Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili on the international tribune and elsewhere serve the interests of the country and people.
As he told journalists, Georgia lost civilians and 20% of its territories during the 2008 war, but received only concern from the international community in response.
"All speeches and statements of Irakli Gharibashvili are based on the interests of the country. All his speeches, all his statements are based on national interests. Irakli Gharibashvili comes out and tells the truth. I understand that this is very painful for our partners and difficult for them to hear, however, we must speak the truth. We must tell the truth, even to our friends, our closest circle. The truth is what we have been talking about for the last months, the last days - what the Prime Minister has been saying, that we must always pursue the interests of our country and our people. The most important thing for us is our country and our people. We have a very difficult and bad experience when the country took a specific step, we had a war, we lost territories, many dead people, civilians, lost territories, our hero soldiers, and what did we get from that? Only worry and concerns. So, we have to pursue the interest of our country and our people," Kaladze said.
