Of course, we stand by the Georgian people, - USA State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said at the briefing.

In addition, Miller once again spoke about the measures already taken by the USA in response to the actions of the Georgian government and noted that they "will not hesitate" to use additional measures if necessary.

"Of course, we stand by the Georgian people. We clearly stated that we stand by the Georgian people. We have made it clear that we support their ambitions to join the European Union, to continue their integration with their European and Atlantic partners.

As you know, a significant amount of aid that we provide to the government of Georgia is under review and we have suspended $95 million of that aid because of the steps that we have seen them take. We will continue to consider whether there are additional measures that would be appropriate, and if so, we will not hesitate to use them," said Matthew Miller.

The spokesperson of the USA State Department noted that he would not make a statement on possible additional sanctions.
