President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said during a briefing in New York that the G20 summit in Miami could provide a venue for a trilateral meeting involving Ukraine, the US and Russia. He has added that Kyiv will support such a format if an agreement is reached on it.
"I believe this is one of the best opportunities put forward by the US side, by President Trump, regarding the G20. I believe this could be an opportunity for a trilateral meeting that could produce a tangible result."
Zelenskyy explained that, in his view, the G20 format itself creates opportunities for productive negotiations, as the summit will bring together not only Ukraine's European partners but also China, India, Middle Eastern countries and others, some of which continue to maintain economic ties with Russia.
"This is, in my view, a possible environment where there could be a result. Of course, Ukraine will support it if such a format is approved and there is a corresponding agreement," he added.
