Central Asia is a particularly interesting region for Georgia. In this context we consider Turkmenistan as a reliable partner and friendly state, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated at the briefing held with Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedow.

As the Head of Government noted, the relations established between the two countries are based on long-standing friendship and mutual respect, which creates a very solid foundation for further cooperation.

I am pleased to host the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in Georgia. It is worth noting that this is the second state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Georgia. The first such visit took place in 2015, when Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited our country. I am confident that the President’s visit will make a significant contribution to the further development of Georgian-Turkmen relations. Today, we signed a joint declaration, as well as agreements and memoranda of understanding on cooperation in various fields, these documents will further strengthen the existing ties between our countries.

I had the opportunity to meet the President face to face, during which we discussed the main directions of Georgian-Turkmen relations, as well as topical issues of the regional and international agenda.

Central Asia is a region of particular interest to Georgia. In this context, we consider Turkmenistan as a reliable partner and our friendly state. The relations established between us are based on many years of friendship and mutual respect, which creates a very solid foundation for further cooperation," said Irakli Kobakhidze.
