“Starting March 1, the employment opportunities available to foreigners in Georgia will be significantly restricted by law, accompanied by a constitutional amendment that will ban the alienation of agricultural land to foreigners,” the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, says.
According to him, the government commits to taking full responsibility for ensuring the effective implementation of this legislation.
“In 2017, our government introduced an amendment to the Georgian Constitution, which explicitly prohibits the alienation of agricultural land to foreigners. Safeguarding and preserving Georgia’s national and religious identity remains one of our most vital national priorities, and the Georgian government will do everything necessary to uphold it,” Irakli Kobakhidze added.
