Kula Plant is set to start making fruit and vegetable products at the HIPP factory in August. According to Vano Goglidze, the founder of Kula Cannery, the baby food project has been halted.

He says that the company is conducting market research to see how much locals trust Georgian products.

"We have acquired the equipment and will likely begin installation at the end of February, with the hope of finishing in May. The baby food production line is currently on hold. The plant will process semi-finished products for baby food, and then we will focus on further developing the baby food production line. These semi-finished products, fruit and cereal products, are large-package items. Initially, we will consume them ourselves and sell them on the market under the brand name 'Kula'. In other words, we will keep on strengthening the existing fruit and cereal line," says Vano Goglidze.

Recall that Gori feeding cannery Kula buys 95% of raw materials from local farmers and peasants. The company has been operating in the market since 2009 and produces environmentally friendly products. At present «Kula» has 5 factories, 4 of which are located in Gori and one in Akhaltsikhe. The company exports its products to about 30 countries worldwide.

As for the German baby food company HIPP, its representative office has been operating in Georgia for years. The company owned a factory that processed and exported raw materials for baby food. The line has been suspended for the past few years due to the lack of raw materials.
