According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, among those registered as asylum seekers during this period were 65 citizens of Ukraine, 39 of Turkey, 22 of India, 16 of Russia, and 14 of Iran. Applications for asylum were also submitted by citizens of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iraq, Yemen, Jordan, Cuba, Lebanon, Nepal, Pakistan, Syria, Armenia, Sudan, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan.

Out of the total 201 registered individuals, 14 were minors.

The Interior Ministry’s statistics also state that in the first quarter of 2026, refugee status was granted to one citizen of Iran, while humanitarian status was granted to one citizen of Turkey. A total of 228 foreign nationals were denied asylum or protection status.

In addition, the Ministry released information regarding deportations. According to the agency, a total of 904 foreign nationals were expelled from Georgia during the first quarter of this year.

Those deported included citizens of Azerbaijan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bulgaria, Ghana, Germany, the United Kingdom, Egypt, Iraq, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Yemen, India, Jordan, Iran, Israel, Kenya, Cyprus, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Cuba, Lebanon, Morocco, Myanmar, Moldova, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russia, Greece, South Africa, Syria, Armenia, Sudan, Thailand, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, the Philippines, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Sri Lanka, the Czech Republic, and China.
