In January-October, Batumi oil terminal increased oil cargo shipment by 17% compared to the same period of 2023- Reuters reports with reference to «KazTransOil» JSC that owns 100% of shares of «BatumiTerminals Limited».
In particular, the transportation of liquid crude oil products soared to 1.606 million tons.
In 10 months of this year, shipment of dark oil products increased by 26% year-on-year and amounted to 858,000 tons, while transportation of light (light) oil products soared by 38% to 584,000 tons.
Liquefied hydrocarbon gas (LPG) shipments plummeted by 10% and stood at 163,000 tons.
Kazakhstan exports fuel oil, LPG and vacuum gas oil through the Batumi oil terminal. "Kaztransoil" has initiated investment projects aimed at increasing the transportation of LPG and open oil products through the Batumi oil terminal. These projects are currently under review and therefore it is not yet known whether shipments are expected to increase in 2025.
Note: the total capacity of the Batumi oil terminal is 12 million tons of oil and oil products per year. There are three berths at the oil terminal to accommodate water vessels from 5,000 to 140,000 tons. The terminal also has five reserve parks, which include 134 warehouses with the total volume of more than 590,000 cubic meters.
