According to the National Bank, in March 2025 Georgian banks issued a total of 4,112 mortgage loans with the total value of 378 million GEL.

In March, the number of new mortgage loans declined by 9% compared to the same period of last year. The volume of loans issued soared by 15% that means that banks issued fewer mortgage loans, although their volume is higher.

In March 2024, the average mortgage amounted to 73 thousand GEL, in March 2025 the average size of issued mortgages was 92 thousand GEL, representing an annual increase of 25.5%. The increase is likely caused by the rise in real estate prices in the country.


According to the National Bank of Georgia, as of March 2025, the interest rate on mortgages in the national currency is 11.86%, representing an annual decrease of 0.09 percentage points.
