In January-June of this year, the number of visitors to Georgia decreased by 2.7%. In total, income from tourism decreased by 2%. This is stated in the 6-month report on the 2026 state budget prepared by the Ministry of Finance, which has already been submitted to the Parliament for consideration.
According to the document, 2,734.5 thousand international visitors visited Georgia in January-June of 2026. According to the data for the 6 months of 2025, the number of visitors amounted to 2,810.5 thousand, which is 2.7 percent less than the same period last year.
The number of tourist visitors is 2,273.0 thousand, which is 0.1 percent more than the same period last year.
In January-June 2026, tourism revenues amounted to 1,931.7 million USD, which is 2.0 percent - 39.3 million USD less than the previous year.
“Given the situation in the Middle East, a decrease in tourism was expected this year, although the decrease is less than expected. In total, tourism revenues have decreased by 2%. As soon as the situation stabilizes, this will be restored and we believe that next year the tourism rate from the relevant countries will increase,” Deputy Minister of Finance Giorgi Kakauridze said at a meeting of the Parliament’s Economic Policy Committee.
