According to the National Bank, the total remittances received in August rose by 10.7%, reaching 321.55 million US dollars. Europe and America account for 63.3% of this total.
During the first eight months of the year, Georgia received US$ 2,373.6 million in remittances.
According to statistics from the National Bank of Georgia, most of remittances to Georgia were originated in European Union countries, accounting for 44.9% or US$ 144.3 million, with an annual growth rate of 11.7%. Among the EU nations, Italy, Germany, and Greece contribute significantly to the total remittances.
The volume of remittances from the United States is on the rise. Specifically, US$ 59.3 million was sent from the USA to Georgia in August, representing a 16.8% increase compared to the same period last year.
Conversely, remittances from the Russian Federation are experiencing a downward trend. In August, remittances from Russia declined by 2.9% year-on-year, totaling $41.3 million.
In August 2025, US$ 35.7 million (96.4 million GEL) was sent from Georgia to various destinations abroad. This reflects a 7.8% increase from August 2024, when remittances amounted to $33.1 million.
