The volume of non-bank deposits placed in the banking sector amounted to GEL 43.09 billion by the end of April 2023 that is GEL 242.96 million or 0.56% less than last month.

In the first quarter of 2023, Bank of Georgia is the leader by deposit volumes followed by TBC Bank, while in the same period of last year, TBC was a leader. The annual change was also recorded among other top seven banks, Procredit Bank lost sixth place to Tera and moved to seventh.

In April, compared to last month, a volume of term deposits increased by GEL 367.11 million or 2.18% (excluding the impact of the exchange rate, they increased by 3.25%), while a volume of demand deposits decreased by 610.07 million or by 2.31% (excluding the impact of the exchange rate), decreased by 1.02%.

The ratio of deposit lariization stood at 48.69 percent by the end of April 2023. Compared to the end of the previous month, the deposit ratio increased by 2.21 percentage points (excluding the effect of the exchange rate, it increased by 1.63 percentage points).

In April, the weighted average annual market interest rate on time deposits was set at 8.57%, including 11.41% on deposits in national currency and 1.08% on deposits in foreign currency. The share of the US dollar in foreign currency deposits was 79.83%, the share of the euro stood at 18.28%.
