Agriculture and hotel sectors account for the largest share of overdue loans

The volume of lending by commercial banks totaled about GEL 53.2 billion, of which loans in the amount of GEL 31.8 billion are issued to the business sector.

In the business sector, the share of loans that are more than 90 days overdue  is about 2% or GEL 652 million.

According to the National Bank, out of 27 different sectors, most loans were issued to the agriculture, hotel and tourism sectors with a high share of overdue loans.

• Acquisition, production and trade of construction materials - 1,918,354,000 GEL, overdue loans- 1.6%

• Trade in consumer goods - 1,729,861,000 GEL, overdue loans- 2.7%

• Production of consumer goods - 1,572,704,000 GEL, overdue loans- 2.0%

• Healthcare - 1,141,816,000 GEL, overdue loans- 2.6%
