In the first three months of 2025, the total profit of 19 commercial banks amounted to 748 million GEL. Commercial banks submitted their financial results to the National Bank of Georgia. The banks earned 37 million GEL, or 5.2% more than in the same period of last year. Out of 19 banks, 13 saw profit in January-March, 6 ended the period with a loss.
Bank of Georgia once again tops the ranking earning 388 million GEL in profit in January-March 2025. that is 32.7 million or 9% more compared to the same period of last year. TBC Bank ranks second in terms of profit with 294 million GEL that is 28.3 million GEL or 11% more year-on-year. Liberty Bank ranks third with a profit of 30 million i that s an annual increase of 20%.
The biggest loss is suffered by VTB Bank, whose operations are limited due to international sanctions imposed in February 2022. The bank lost 33.5 million GEL in January-March.
Silk Bank, Pave Bank, Hash Bank and Paysera Bank also saw losses.
