Earnings from gold exports have achieved record highs. In January-August 2025 exports of unprocessed or semi-processed gold from Georgia surged by 13.7% compared to the same period last year, totaling US$76,107 million, up from US$66,891 million. This is the highest figure since 2014, according to external trade portal data for this period.

In terms of cost, the average price of semi-processed or untreated gold from Georgia this year hit $54,362 against $39,347 last year. According to the Georgian Statistical Office, 1.4 tons of gold were exported from the country in the first eight months of 2025, down from 1.7 tons in the same period in the previous year.


As in previous years, Switzerland remains Georgia's primary market for unprocessed gold, with sales amounting to $68.937 million in the first eight months. Additionally, gold valued at $6.032 million was exported to Turkey, and $1.137 million to the United Arab Emirates.
