APM Terminals Poti has reported strong growth in 2025, handling 481,473 TEU containers in the first nine months of the year, a 16% increase compared to the same period in 2024. The company also saw a rise in ship traffic, receiving 268 container vessels, up 13% from last year’s 237.
General cargo operations posted even sharper growth. Between January and September 2025, APM Terminals processed 200,768 tons of general cargo, representing a 24% increase over the 161,179 tons handled during the same period in 2024.
Ferry cargo volumes also grew, with car containers up 12% year-on-year. By September 2025, the terminal had processed 14,914 car containers, compared with 14,461 last year.
However, the total number of vehicles handled remained stable, with 58,342 cars processed in the first nine months of 2025, slightly down from 58,511 in 2024. Despite this, the overall figures highlight continued growth in containerized and general cargo at Georgia’s key Black Sea port.
