We are the fastest developing and growing economy, our average economic growth over the past 5 years has been 9.3%, this is one of the highest indicators in Europe, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated during his speech at the Leaders' Dialogue held within the framework of the Abu Dhabi Sustainable Week, the main theme of which was - "Middle Corridor and the role of energy in connecting Europe and Asia".
According to him, this success is the result of the reforms implemented by the government.
“We are a very successful country in terms of economic development, not only in our country, but also in the wider region. We are the fastest developing and growing economy, our average economic growth over the past 5 years has been 9.3%, which is one of the highest in Europe. Also, if economic success is assessed correctly, it is precisely the result of the economic reforms that are being implemented in the country, it is the result of the fact that the level of corruption is the lowest in the region and we have better indicators in this direction than the 11 EU member states.
If Georgia’s indicators and achievements are assessed fairly, step by step, what we are doing, there should be enthusiasm for Georgia’s further integration into the European space. We naturally belong to Europe, we are trying our best to move forward, develop the country in terms of economic growth, improving the governance system, which is why we are very optimistic. There are certain difficulties between the EU and Georgia, but we hope that certain political circumstances will change and integration will take place on this basis," the Prime Minister said.
