Gold is expected to become cheaper starting from 2026, and if the price decline is long-term, it will also affect the cost of jewelry and gold products.
On air of Commersant radio station, Tornike Samkharadze, Chief Executive Officer at Zarapkhana, noted that a price drop of about $200 per ounce is expected that will drive a 7 GEL decline in the price of pure gold on the Georgian market.
"Compared to last year, demand has grown this year, and we expect it to become even more active, especially in the last week of December. We think that this December will be better than the same period of the previous year,"Tornike Samkharadze notes.
According to him, December and the pre-New Year preparations are particularly among the most active periods for the industry. The industry awaits this period all year round to offer the market new models, collections, and jewelry.
"We always set prices based on our business needs. Zarapkhana has never set prices based on competitor prices, because we focus on our products quality and our needs. Sometimes this price is too low, and with prices like these, "Zarapkhana" won't be able to sustain its quality," stresses Tornike Samkharadze.
