As Easter approaches, eggs have become increasingly popular. Customers try to stock up on eggs by  buying them before Good Friday. "Patardzeuli" Director Otar Muchiashvili says in a conversation with Commersant that during this period they sell about one and a half million eggs. The price of the products ranges from 30 tetri to 40 tetri.

"About one and a half million eggs are sold annually at Easter. The clients have already stocked up. We have no leftovers. We deliver products to the market on time and will continue like this. Egg price ranges from 30 to 40 tetri depending on the category," says Otar Muchiashvili.

The egg producer does not rule out price hikes for its products, but doesn’t specify the date from which consumers will have to pay the increased price. In the words of "Patardzeuli" CEO, the price of one egg will increase by 1-2 tetri due to the rise in corn prices. The price of one kilogram of grain has gone up by 10 tetri.

„All this will affect egg price in the future. Corn is mainly imported from Russia, and if it is closed, the price will increase. We still have reserves. The price hikes depend on the supply of food. When the product is broung into the country and will be delivered, the price of one egg will rise by about 1-2 tetri," Otar Muchiashvili stresses.
