Georgy Filimonov, the Governor of the Vologda Region, reported that he ran out of gas on the highway during a trip. According to him, the car stopped on the Vologda bypass due to an empty tank.
After this, the head of the region switched to a car that agreed to give him a ride. He later clarified that it was a traffic police crew.
Meanwhile, approximately an hour before the incident, Filimonov urged residents of the region not to buy fuel in advance.
He reported that temporary partial restrictions on gasoline sales for individuals are in effect in the region, as supply volumes have remained the same, while demand has almost doubled.
"I ask for understanding regarding the situation, do not create fuel reserves, and do not succumb to panic. We need to give our neighbors and fellow citizens the opportunity to refuel," the governor noted.
