Samantha Power, the Chief of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), has said that Ukraine will receive an additional US$250 million to support agriculture, which suffers from blocking grain exports due to the ongoing full-scale Russian invasion. This was reported by European Pravda with reference to Reuters.
During her visit to Odesa, the head of USAID said that the new assistance package will cover the development of agricultural infrastructure and the expansion of other grain export routes.
She also called on other governments and the private sector to provide another US$250 million to help farmers affected by Russia's actions and boost Ukraine's economy in the long term.
Prior to that, Power visited the headquarters of the State Emergency Service in Kyiv, where she announced more than US$500 million in humanitarian aid and handed over US$2.3 million worth of equipment to the State Emergency Service.
