Apple is reportedly preparing for what could be its most significant product wave in years — and it's all set to roll out around 2027, the 20th anniversary of the iPhone.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, in the latest edition of his Power On newsletter, said that this strategic lineup aims to usher in a “product renaissance” following years of incremental updates.

One of the most anticipated devices is Apple’s first foldable iPhone, the rumours of which have been around for quite some time now. According to Gurman, it is internally viewed as a key milestone for the iPhone’s two-decade legacy. While analyst Ming-Chi Kuo estimates the device to be in production by the last quarter of 2026, Gurman says that it will be on the market by 2027.

What could set this model apart from existing foldables in the market is its almost imperceptible display crease, a breakthrough in Apple’s display engineering. Kuo has previously stated that it will be a starting price between $2,000 and $2,500.

Later that year, Apple is expected to unveil a radically redesigned iPhone — a sleek, mostly glass device with a curved display and no cutouts. It’s intended as a nod to the iPhone X, which debuted in 2017 and marked the company’s transition to edge-to-edge screens and glass-centric aesthetics.

By 2027, Apple is also planning to enter the smart glasses market with a product that draws inspiration from Meta’s Ray-Bans — something that Gurman also noted in October 2024. The glasses are said to feature a custom Apple chip and be powered by Apple Intelligence — the company’s suite of generative AI features — along with camera-based environmental awareness similar to Visual Intelligence.

On the software front, Siri is expected to get a major overhaul. The voice assistant will be rebuilt using large language models (LLMs), offering a more natural and conversational interface. Behind the scenes, Apple is likely to introduce new AI server chips to bolster its cloud-based intelligence features.

As Gurman had mentioned before, Apple is also developing a tabletop robotic device with an articulating arm — potentially part of its long-term smart home strategy. This device is said to feature its own AI assistant with a distinct personality.
