Since 2025, some changes have already taken place in the country. Salaries and pensions for civil servants have increased, changes have been made to the rules for issuing loans, etc. A number of changes will come into force on April 1.

Here are the changes to come into force in Georgia from April 1, 2025:

Plain packaging to be fully implemented in Georgia by April 1, 2025

 

On October 1, 2024, plain packaging requirements in Georgia entered into effect.  However, on June 27, 2024, the Parliament of Georgia passed an amendment to the Law of Georgia on Tobacco Control, allowing manufacturers and importers to place old packs on the market through March 1, 2025, and retailers to sell old packs through April 1, 2025.  

Fines for violating pyrotechnics rules will come into effect from April 1, 2025

Import, export, production and sale of pyrotechnic products in Georgia will be allowed on the basis of a special permit/license.

A number of new regulations, prohibitions, norms of administrative and criminal liability regarding pyrotechnics are introduced, part of which is planned to be implemented from February 1, 2025, part will come into force from April 1.

Taking into account the legislative package, the fee for the permit for the production, sale, import and export of pyrotechnic products is determined in the amount of 200-200 GEL. In addition, the fee for issuing a permit within 20 working days will be 500 GEL, and within 10 working days it will be 1,000 GEL.

From April 1, 2025, a fine will be imposed for the improper use of "112" by minors

The Code of Administrative Offenses of Georgia has established punitive measures and toughened the punishment for those who misuse the emergency number 112 for falsely reporting terrorism.

The responsibility of the parent or his / her surrogate is raised in case of the following violations:

1. False notification of terrorism on “112” by a minor under 14 years of age will result in a fine of 1500 GEL for the parent or his / her surrogate.

Repeated violation of the law within 1 year will result in a fine of 2500 GEL.

 2. Improper and false call to “112” by an adolescent under 16 will result in a fine of 100 to 300 GEL for the parent or his / her surrogate.

Repeated violation of the law will be fined in the amount of 500 GEL.

The Civil Service Bureau (CSB) will be abolished as a legal entity, effective April 1, 2025. 

From April, several airlines to launch flights from Georgia to different directions

From April 9, 2025, the low-cost carrier Transavia France, part of the Air France-KLM Group, will launch flights to Tbilisi from Paris Orly Airport (ORY).   the airline will operate Paris-Tbilisi flights twice a week, on Wednesday and Saturday. The Georgian Civil Aviation Agency on Wednesday reported that starting this summer’s navigation season, Tbilisi International Airport would add a new route. Swiss airline Edelweiss Air, part of the Lufthansa Group, would operate flights on the Zurich-Tbilisi-Zurich route. According to the application submitted to the Civil Aviation Agency, flights will begin on April 12, operating twice a week. British low-cost airline EasyJet will operate from April 1 direct flights to Tbilisi International Airport from London, Geneva and Milan will be performed twice a week. From April 29 Wizz Air launches its flights from Kutaisi to Lyon and Madrid. Wizz Air resumes flights to Madrid. Wizz Air also starts flights on the Kutaisi-Lyon-Kutaisi route.
