Only 7% of registered cars in Georgia are insured, as per the market statistics for the first three months of 2025 revealed by the State Insurance Supervision Service.
According to statistics, as of March 2024, the number of active policies was 140,367 that is a 9% more compared to the same period of 2024.
Auto insurance is the second largest segment after health insurance. Companies attracted a total of 85.4 million GEL in premiums in the first quarter of 2025.
Accordingly, the average cost of car insurance premiums in Georgia for a year is approximately 2,433 GEL, or 202 GEL per month.
