If the Georgian tariff problem is not resolved, I hope that businesses will look for alternative ways to import and export from Azerbaijan. The relevant statement was made by the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan.
He confirmed that the first batch of Azerbaijani gasoline is already traveling from Azerbaijan to Armenia via Georgia by rail. The gasoline was purchased by a private company.
“I also saw that a train loaded with oil products has already left Azerbaijan and is heading to Armenia. I welcome this event. Trade is carried out between private companies, but, of course, the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan has created political conditions for this trade,” Pashinyan said.
According to him, there are agreements at the political level, the details of which will be conveyed to the business circles of both countries. If there is a corresponding interest, agreements will be reached.
Speaking about the possibility of continuing cooperation with Azerbaijan in this regard, Pashinyan noted that there are certain problems with transit tariffs on the territory of Georgia. He expressed hope that these problems will be resolved.
“If these problems are not resolved, I hope that businesses will find alternative ways to import and export, if these agreements will be interesting in the future,” Pashinyan said.
