Tbilisi Mmayor has once again thanked the population for expressing their will in the local self-government elections and for supporting the Georgian Dream team at a session of the Tbilisi municipal government.
According to Kakha Kaladze, the Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia party achieved unprecedentedly high results in the capital during these elections.
“First and foremost, I congratulate you on the successful conclusion of the local self-government elections, which are of tremendous significance for the life and development of our city. With this choice, the population has once again expressed its will and objective: that it wants the peaceful development of the country and a better future for Tbilisi.
We achieved unprecedentedly high results in Tbilisi, with over 71 per cent of voters attending the polling stations expressing their confidence in us. This equates to the support of 215,370 voters, significantly surpassing the results recorded in the 2017 local elections, when we secured victory in the first round. I will not engage in the political speculation stirred by unpopular politicians, who are disconnected from reality and influenced by the television stations they control, concerning the number of votes we received. The Georgian population has once again put them in their place.
I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to you, the people of Tbilisi, for your support and trust. We will not grow weary in serving you; we will not let you down, we will serve you tirelessly. Your choice, your every vote, contributes to a greener Tbilisi, better-maintained avenues and streets, and the realisation of all the programmes and projects we presented to you as our action plan,” declared the mayor of the capital.
According to him, the next four years will be the most ambitious, diverse, and interesting for the capital.
“I promise you, we shall transform this trust into the greatest responsibility towards you. Tbilisi will undoubtedly become an even more developed European city. Your support and the strength of the team behind Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia ensure this. I am confident that the next four years will be the most ambitious, diverse, and exciting yet. Together, we will be able to face the challenges that still lie ahead in the capital with honour and resolve,” noted Kakha Kaladze.
The Mayor of Tbilisi thanked each employee of the municipality for their outstanding professionalism and tireless work.
“I’ve said many times that my strength lies precisely in my team. They are doing an important job and are directly involved in implementing all the policies that our team has initiated. I thank each employee of the Tbilisi municipality for their tireless work, for the professionalism they display daily towards your city,” the Mayor of Tbilisi declared.
