Russia is prepared to respond to any threats with concrete military and technical measures rather than rhetoric, President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting of the Russian Security Council. “I want to stress that Russia is capable of responding to any existing or emerging threats, and no one should have any doubts about this. We will respond not with words, but with military and technical measures,” he stated.

As an example, Putin pointed to Moscow’s decision to abandon its moratorium on deploying ground-launched intermediate-range and shorter-range missiles. He described the move as a necessary response to U.S. and Western weapons deployments in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, which he said pose a direct threat to Russia’s security.

The president underscored that Russia’s defense strategies are being adjusted in line with shifting global realities. He stressed that plans to strengthen national defense are not only comprehensive but also advancing on schedule, ensuring the country’s military preparedness in an increasingly unstable international environment.
