The Ministry of Finance of Georgia responds to the misinformation spread by certain media in recent days regarding the process of enforcement of international sanctions by Georgia and once again categorically states that since the imposition of international sanctions, our country fully complies with the established rules and strictly monitors all types of customs operations at the border, reads the statement of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia.

As noted by the Ministry, they declare with full responsibility that there is not a single fact of violation of international sanctions by Georgia, which is confirmed by the statements made by the ambassadors of the European Union and the USA in Georgia to the media.

"Considering the above, all products included in the list determined by the countries participating in the sanctions, including the household electrical appliances mentioned in the TV program, which are transported through Georgia, are subject to special customs control and are checked in detail. Also, the cases of issuing the certificate of origin of goods are subject to additional verification, so that Georgia is not used as a means of evading the imposed sanctions.

We declare with full responsibility that there is not a single fact of violation of international sanctions by Georgia, which is confirmed by the statements made by the ambassadors of the European Union and the USA in Georgia to the media.

Accordingly, any person who makes accusations about Georgia's violation of sanctions must provide relevant evidence.

Otherwise, it will be considered a deliberate action - that by spreading false information, they try cause reputational damage to the country, which will not remain without a response from our side," the statement reads.
