The brazen crackdown in Georgia must not go unpunished, Latvian MEP Rihards Kols wrote on his X account, sharing footage of the arrests of protesters in Georgia.
According to him, Europe must impose sanctions on Bidzina Ivanishvili's regime and stand by the Georgian people.
"The brazen crackdown in Georgia must not go unpunished. As the Georgian Nightmare tries to silence peaceful protesters and opposition voices, we must respond immediate and targeted sanctions against Ivanishvili’s regime and its enablers. This repression must not be tolerated and the price for attacking freedom must be punishing. Europe must stand with the Georgian people," Kols wrote.
