By the initiative of the Prime Minister, a decision was made at today’s government meeting to introduce a bill to Parliament that will significantly expand the authority of the Government Administration, announced Levan Zhorzholiani, Head of the Government Administration of Georgia.
According to him, a Government Efficiency Department will be established to ensure monitoring of the implementation of decisions made by all levels of the executive branch.
As Levan Zhorzholiani noted, communication has also been established with the State Audit Office, where real-time auditing will be implemented.
“A department will be established within the Government Administration, transforming the Internal Audit Service into the Government Efficiency Department. We have also engaged with the State Audit Office, where real-time auditing will be implemented. Previously, audits of past years were conducted; now, the State Audit Office will be able to assess ongoing projects. I believe this will significantly enhance the efficient use of budgetary funds and facilitate more effective measures across various sectors, including energy, property management, and beyond. Transparency and accountability are fundamental principles of our governance, and the creation of this new mechanism will serve to strengthen these two fundamental principles,” stated Levan Zhorzholiani.
