In May 2023, money transfers worth $30.9 million was sent abroad from Georgia that is about $2 million more than in May 2022 ($28.7 million).
Turkey ranks first by a volume of remittances from Georgia abroad where $6.7 million were transferred. Followed by Russia with almost GEL 3.6 million and Azerbaijan with $3.2 million.
Western Union is the most commonly used money transfer system for transfers from Georgia abroad, through which $7.9 million were transferred in May. Russian Zolotaya Korona is the second with $ 7.5 million.
