In September 2024, the volume of remittance flows into the country stood at $ 283.4 million that is 1.1% ($3.0 million) less than in September 2023.
95.8% of remittances from abroad to Georgia come from the 23 largest partner countries, from which remittance volumes exceeded $1 million each in September. The same 23 countries accounted for 95.3% of all remittances in September last year.
Only $ 36 million were transferred from Russia to Georgia that is 40% less compared to the previous year, thus, Russia moved to the third position in terms of remittances. Italy tops the list with $50 million in September that os 13% more compared with last year. The second position is taken by the USA with $49 million, from which the remittances soared by 18% in September.
