In January-March 2023, the total number of online transactions with Georgian payment cards reached GEL 40.4 million with the total amount of GEL 2.77 billion.
Online payments with Georgian card instruments increased annually by 95%, their number increased by 20.7 million while the amount – by 88.4% (GEL 1.47 billion).
The card payments rate has recently increased significantly. In March 2023, more than 76.2 million transactions worth more than GEL 6.3 billion were carried out with Georgian card instruments in Georgia and abroad, while in the first quarter of 2023, up to 198 million transactions worth GEL 16 billion were carried out.
