As of August 2023, Georgia’s foreign debt makes $ 8,568,560 thousand that is approximately GEL 22,528,458 thousand in national currency.

According to the data published by the Ministry of Finance, in August 2022 Georgia’s state debt stood at GEL 7,691,795 thousand that made GEL 22,340,819 thousand at the then exchange rate.

As of August of this year, the external debt of the government totaled $ 8,153,618 thousand or GEL 21,437,493 thousand in the national currency.


The debt to multilateral creditors reaches $ 6,064,737 thousand or GEL 15,945,406 thousand.

The Asian Development Bank ranks the first in terms of lending Georgia's economy, namely the development of the largest infrastructure projects.


The World Bank Group is the second, funding is mainly used for infrastructural projects followed by the European Investment Bank.
