In January 2024 c onsumer complaints against commercial banks increased by 38%, compared to the same period of the previous year.


According to the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), in January 2,237 complaints were filed by consumers against 1,624 in January of 2022.

The list of  top consumer complaints in January 2024 includes:


1. Current account — 1 112 applications;

2. Consumer loan - 465 applications;

3.Credit card- 117 applications;

4. Internet Banking -95 applications;

5. Mortgage loans - 57 applications

In the reporting period the highest number of claims (1 026)  were filed about transactions

Followed by claims related to the terms of the contract - 429 applications,  administration / service claims- 372 applications

Of the 2 237 claims that commercial banks completed in February 2023, 365 were considered  to be well founded and 984 were unfounded.
