In March 2023, the total assets of commercial banks (in current prices) decreased  GEL 451.4 million compared to last month or 0.67 percent (increased by 0.45 percent without the effect of the exchange rate) and stood at  GEL 67.3 billion at the end of March 2023.

In 3 months of 2023, the ranking of commercial banks by  total assets is as follows:

  • Bank of Georgia - 26,007,804 GEL (first quarter of 2022 22,869,746 GEL), an increase of 13.5%.
  • TBC Bank - 25,439,030 GEL (first quarter of 2022 23,862,371 GEL), an increase of 6.45%.
  • Liberty Bank - 3,701,357 GEL (first quarter of 2022 3,250,393 GEL), an increase of 13.84%.
  • Base Bank - 3,040,064 GEL (first quarter of 2022 2,818,879 GEL), an increase of 7.1%.
  • Credo Bank - 2,212,851 GEL (first quarter of 2022: 1,786,832 GEL), an increase of 23.5%.

As of March 2023, the Georgian banking sector is represented by 15 commercial banks; including 13 with foreign capital participation.
