In the I quarter of 2023, the average monthly nominal earnings in Georgia increased by 18.7 percent (270.1 Gel) compared to the same quarter of the previous year and amounted to 1 716.6 Gel.

According to the economic activity the highest monthly earnings were observed in the following fields: • Financial and insurance activities – 3 761.1 Gel (increased by 23.8 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year) • Information and communication – 3 631.3 Gel (increased by 55.2 percent ) • Professional, scientific and technical activities – 2 386.8 Gel (increased by 21.6 percent) • Construction – 2 145.5 Gel (increased by 14.7 percent)

In the I quarter of 2023, the average earnings equaled to 1 375.7 Gel for women, while 2 053.4 Gel for men. The annual growth of earnings amounted to 190.9 Gel (16.1%) for women and 358.1 Gel (21.1%) for men. In most sectors of economy, the average monthly earnings of men were higher than women’s.

In the I quarter of 2023, the average monthly earnings of hired employees in the business sector increased by 279.4 Gel (18.9%) and equaled 1 759.1 Gel. According to the economic activity the highest monthly earnings were observed in Information and communication (3 740.2 Gel, increased by 57.1 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year) and Arts, entertainment and recreation activities (2 832.9 Gel, increased by 14.8 percent).

In the I quarter of 2023, compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the average monthly earnings of hired employees in the non-business and financial sector increased by 252.4 Gel (18.1%) and amounted to 1 643.2 Gel. According to the economic activity the highest monthly earnings were observed in the Financial and insurance activities.

Tbilisi and Mtskheta-Mtianeti region are leading regions by amount of the average earnings.
