21% of people use private medical insurance, only 7% of registered cars in the country are insured, - the Insurance Supervision Service reports.
Statistics show that there are 773,366 active health insurance policies in Georgia, compared to 731,140 in the same period of last year. In 2024 there were 741,174 private medical insurance policies in Georgia, which accounted for 20% of the total population.
As for land vehicle insurance, minimal growth was recorded here. In particular, as of March 31, the number of policies stood at 140,367, in the first quarter of 2024 - 128,839, and in the same period of 2023 — at 116,265.
Insurance premiums from direct insurance activities amounted to 453 million GE in the first 3 months of 2025. In the same period, the insurance profit of insurers amounted to 76 million GEL, the net profit - 26 million GEL.
As of March 31, 2025, 19 insurance companies licensed to sell life and non-life insurance were registered in the country.
