• Paints and varnishes based on natural polymers, dissolved in aqueous medium - $2 million, 1,008 tons;
• Тon-prepackaged medicinal products - $1.3 million, 60 tons;
• Paints and varnishes based on synthetic polymers or chemically modified - $998 thousand, 175 tons.
As for exports, last year Georgia received 213.9% more income from Greece (14.5 million) compared to 2022.
The TOP-5 exported commodities in 2023 are as follows:
• Oil and oil products - $9.3 million, 24,836 tons;
• Plywood glued, wood veneered panels and similar materials from mixed wood - $1.2 million, 1 214 tons;
• flour and granules from meat, fish or crustaceans - $904 thousand, 439 tons;
• Nuts and walnuts - $553 thousand, 104 tons;
• Pantyhose, high neck socks and other hosiery products - $417 thousand, 22 tons.
Money transfers
In 2023, $243 million was transferred from Greece to Georgia ranking it the fourth among the sending countries. As for the remittances transferred from Georgia, last year they stood at only GEL 18.2 million.
According to the statistics of the past 10 years, the largest volume of remittances from Greece were sent in 2023 ($ 243 million) and in 2021 ($240 million), the lowest in 2015 - $117.5 million. The amount of money transfers from Georgia ranges from 10 to 18 million dollars over the years.
Tourism
In 2023, a total of 22,716 visits were made from Greece to Georgia that is 52.6% more than in 2022 and 7.4% more than in the pre-pandemic 2019.
