According to the National Statistics Office, in January 2026, Georgia’s inflation stood at 1.2% compared to the previous month, the annual inflation rate was 4.8%.
Prices for the food and non-alcoholic beverages soared by 10.6% compared to last year, which was reflected in the annual inflation rate by 3.55%.
Prices increased for the following subgroups:
• Fish - 20.5%;
•Fruits and grapes — 16.9%;
• Bread and bakery products - 14.3%;
• Sugar, jam and other sweets - 10.2%;
• Meat and meat products - 9.7 percent;
•Coffee, tea and cocoa - 9.4%;
• Vegetables and fruits - 8.8%;
• Oil and fat - 8.7%;
• Milk, cheese and eggs - 8.6%;
• Mineral and spring water, non-alcoholic drinks and natural juices — 6.8%.
