According to the National Statistics Office, exports of Georgian laurel declined by 43%. In particular, in January-June 2025, 14.009 million US dollars (3,281 tons) of Georgian laurels were exported, compared to 24.748 million US dollars (6,515 tons) in the same period last year.


According to BusinessPressNews, this year the export price rose by 13%. In particular, last year the average export price of 1 kg of laurel leaf before tax was $3.8, compared to $4.3 this year.

Prices of the laurel have risen: 89% of the Georgian laurel is supplied to China and Russia.

It’s worth mentioning that the Georgian laurel is mainly exported to the markets of China and Russia. The combined share of these two countries in domestic exports is 89%.

In detail, in January-June 2025 the five principal partners for Georgian laurel were :

• China - 9.238 million US dollars (total 2 137 tons);


• Russia - 3.285 million US dollars (592 tons);


• Ukraine - 749.7 thousand US dollars (182 tons);


• Uzbekistan - 174 thousand dollars (201 tons);


• Moldova - 78 thousand dollars (20 tons).
