Georgia’s coal import is growing sharply. In 4 months of the current year, a total of 81 thousand tons of coal worth $14.5 million

were brought into the country that is 559% and 925% more than in the same period of last year - $2.2 million and 7.9 thousand tons.

It’s worth mentioning that this is a record high compared to imports registered in the same period of last year.

In January-April, Georgia bought $13.8 million worth of coal from its northern neighbor that is 2,331% more than in the previous year.

Import volumes have also increased by 3.018% this year and stood at 78.9 thousand tons against 2.5 thousand tons last year.
