Sakstat has published the latest economic growth indicators, and economic growth for January–October amounted to 7.6%. Therefore, with very high probability, by the end of the year we will exceed the International Monetary Fund’s forecast of 7.2%, - Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze stated at today’s government meeting.
According to him, by the end of this year, for the first time in Georgia’s history, the national economy will exceed 100 billion GEL, and the nominal GDP per capita will surpass 10,000 USD.
“Let me remind you that the IMF increased its initial forecast and adjusted it to 7.2%. However, it seems that by the end of the year we will have an even higher indicator. Also, by the end of this year - for the first time in history - our Gross Domestic Product, Georgia’s economy, will exceed 100 billion GEL, and the nominal GDP per capita will surpass 10,000 USD for the first time. GDP per capita in purchasing power parity will exceed 30,000 USD, whereas only 8 years ago this figure was 10,000 USD. The country is developing correctly in all economic directions. Therefore, we will do everything to ensure that the growth trend does not stop and that we maintain a high rate of economic expansion.” - said the Prime Minister.
