Restoration of the popular in Soviet times and abandoned mountain resort of Abastumani is underway according to plan and will be completed for the 2025 season, Georgia’s Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili states.
“The resort’s reconstruction has entered an intensive phase, most construction work is completed, finishing work will begin in the near future. The
Basic infrastructure and hotels will be put into operation at the end of next year, and in 2025 the resort will be fully prepared to receive both local and foreign tourists in accordance with modern standards and high environmental requirements,” Levan Davitashvili notes.
The Ministry of Infrastructure has already completed the full rehabilitation of up to 20 historic houses of the 19th and 20th centuries, the National Astrophysical Observatory built in 1932 and the cable car built dated back to 1982.
