No one is threatening Irakli Gharibashvili’s family – I do not intend to gossip, – this was stated by the Chairman of the Local Self-Government Committee, Irakli Kadagishvili, responding to the statement of the former Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili, who is in detention.
According to him, Irakli Gharibashvili’s letter is an opportunity for the wide unfolding of speculation, and he adds that he has no desire to enter into this speculation.
“In general, I do not recall that under this government any problem has been created for someone’s family because of the activity of any member. This is in no way the handwriting of this government.
This letter is an opportunity for the wide unfolding of speculation. I have no desire at all to enter into this speculation, because there are so many people, so many speculative opinions can be developed. This is a kind of speculative topic; therefore, as many people as there are, as many interests as there are, as many people of political taste or recipients of other benefits as there may be, that many versions and that much gossip material may exist. Therefore, I do not intend to engage in this gossip, the circulation of versions, or whatever you want to call it.
No one is threatening his family or anyone in general. If he has a desire to go into politics, do not ask me; ask him. I have no desire at all to start speculative talk about what a person who is in detention is saying about going or not going into politics,” Kadagishvili stated.
