With the support of the National Wine Agency, five family-owned Georgian wine cellars participated in the "RAW Wine Tokyo" exhibition held in the capital of Japan.
Japanese wine professionals and consumers had the opportunity to taste wines from the Georgian wineries: “Andria’s Wine,” “Artana Wines,” “Iora,” “Manavi Wines,” and “Gabriel’s Wines.” Visitors to the exhibition were introduced to the ancient traditions and culture of Georgian winemaking.
At the "RAW Wine" exhibition (The Artisan Wine Fair), producers of high-quality natural, organic, and biodynamic wines come together. The event is organized by renowned French wine expert Isabelle Legeron.
To present their wines at the exhibition, the Georgian entrepreneurs also received support from the Embassy of Georgia in Japan.
Japan is one of the strategic export markets for Georgian wine. With the support of the National Wine Agency, the first large-scale presentation of Georgian wine in the Japanese market took place in 2014. Since then, with state support, Georgian wine companies have consistently participated in prestigious international exhibitions such as Foodex Japan and Wine and Gourmet Japan. Georgian wine tastings and presentations are held in various cities across Japan, and wine tours are organized for Japanese wine professionals and media representatives in all regions of Georgia.
It is noteworthy that the export of Georgian wine to Japan is on the rise. In the first four months of this year, nearly 71,000 liters of wine have been exported from Georgia to Japan, which is a 21% increase compared to the same period last year.
