"A stable price for blueberries continues to be determined, although the average cost ranges within $6-8, but this price will probably change as we expect a very good harvest," Kote Tavadze, Director of "Meko" LLC, told "Comersant". According to him, at this stage, early crop is being gathering, massive harvesting is expected from June 20.

"I expect a harvest of about 12 to 14 tons from my new gardens, as they say the price of 1 kg of blueberries will be $6-8 , but a very good harvest is expected and this price will change," Kote Tavadze notes.

As for the export markets, Kote Tavadze notes that a surge in demand is seen from consumers across Asia. He says that he has sent up to 150 kg of crops to Dubai as a sample, and in case of a positive response, exports will be carried out to Dubai as well.

As for the local market, demand is observed on the local market, but not in large quantities, the product is mainly bought by tourists, it is also sold in supermarkets, I got my products to Agrohub and this year I expect to receive an order," Kote Tavadze explains.

Kote Tavadze notes that he initially used state funding to grow blueberry gardens, later he took a loan from "Bank of Georgia" to purchase equipment and expand the blueberry gardens. Currently, the company owns two gardens on the area of 3ha and 2ha.
